Rope ladder into a hidden net hangout

With this net, we were hired to replace a loosely draped cargo net with a hand woven tree net for the client's kids. At first glance, I thought this tree might not be big enough to span a net, but once we looked more closely, we realized there was a lot more space within the canopy than it seemed from the outside. I also used this as an opportunity to try out the idea of weaving the side walls first so they become tight and don’t allow the perimeter to pull in as much when we weave the floor.

Then to get in, we suspended a ring in the center which also helped us bypass one of the branches in the middle while leaving space on either side to climb around. The combination of the vibrant green leaves of this honey locust and completely enclosed space in the canopy made for a really special space. Definitely one of my favorite small scale nets I've ever done!

For a video tour of the net, check out a reel I posted here.
