A Weekend Weaving Retreat in Northern California
Come join us in wine country for a small-group, hands-on tree net weaving retreat!
What We’ll Be Doing
Over the course of a weekend, we’ll work together to weave a tree net between three coast live oaks on a hillside overlooking the rolling hills of Sonoma County. The process will be hands-on and collaborative, with plenty of room for experimentation, questions, and learning by doing.
Why This Retreat
The intention is simple: spend time outdoors, learn a new skill, meet new people, and work side by side on a shared project in a beautiful place.
The Location

The retreat will take place on a private property just outside Glen Ellen in Sonoma County, easily accessible by car or via the the Santa Rosa (STS), San Francisco (SFO), or Oakland (OAK) airports.
If you need any help figuring out the best way to get there, shoot me an email at the address at the bottom of the page. I'm happy to help!
The Timeline
Below is a general outline of how the weekend will unfold.
-
Friday, October 23rd - Arrival, Mini-Net Practice and Dinner - We’ll start by weaving a tiny net so you can learn and practice all the knots and see the whole process from start to finish on a smaller scale.
-
Saturday, October 24th - Begin Weaving the Full Sized Net - We’ll work together to establish and tension a perimeter, then subdivide the net and assign sections for each person to start weaving.
-
Sunday, October 25th - Continue Weaving & Climbing Wall Demo - We’ll weave the net side walls and demonstrate how to rig and weave climbing walls with rings.
Where We'll Be Staying
The retreat will take place in and around a beautiful Japanese craftsman revival home, nestled in the hills just outside of Glen Ellen.
The house will function as our shared base throughout the retreat. It includes a full kitchen, dining space, and open living areas where we’ll cook meals, gather in the evenings, and regroup between work sessions.
Participants can choose between shared and private accomodations in the house.

FAQ
-
Do I need prior weaving experience?
Nope! The retreat is beginner-friendly. Over the course of the retreat, we'll go from tying the knots to full sized weaves. All skill levels are welcome!
-
How physically demanding is the retreat?
We’ll be working with our hands and standing for periods of time, but there’s flexibility and rest built into the days. The most strenuous part will be the weaving on your wrists, but I'll make sure to show techniques to reduce strain over time.

Is lodging included in the retreat tuition?
Tuition covers weaving instruction, materials, meals, and retreat activities. Lodging is selected separately (shared room or private room).
-
Does the retreat include access to your online course?
Yes. Participants will receive lifetime access to both the Beginner and Advanced video courses so they watch before hand (totally optional) and have it as a resource after the retreat.
